Analysis on the Development Hotspots of in Educational Informatization based on the Hype Cycle

How to choose and adopt appropriate technology applied in the field of education has become one of the key issue in the advance process of the current education informatization. Through the interpretation on the hype cycle, the relationship between the hype cycle and the educational informatization was analyzed. This paper found that the five phases of education informationzation matched well to the five development stages of the hype cycle. Based on the retrieve, evaluation and comprehensive analysis of the hype cycle for the seven-year's technologies, the short-term and long-term development hotspots of educational informatization were explored. The research on the hype cycle could help educators understand the new hotspot of educational informatization brought about by emerging technologies, promoting the organic integration between education and technology.
