Effect of planting space on growth and seed yield of alfalfa

On the basis of study on growth,population structure,bearing characters and seed yield of alfalfa were analyzed with the treatment of different plant row space.It was found that the effect of plant space on growth speed,stem diameter,branch number,inflorescence number,pods number and seed yield is more significant than that of rows space.The highest seed yield of alfalfa reached 1 182 kg per hm~2 which has been obtained from the plots with 60 cm of row space and 30 cm of plant space.
