Studies on the Effect of Different Peptides on Ruminal Bacterial Protein Yield in the Culture

Peptides from soy,corn and rumen fluid were incubated with rumen fluid in the culture and the effect of different peptides on ruminal bacterial protein yield was studied.The results showed that bacteria grew faster and bacteria protein yield increased(P0.01 or P0.05)with amino acid-N increasing in the culture.In the earlier stage of incubation period bacteria grew rapidly and bacterial protein yield increased significantly(P0.01 or P0.05),and in the later incubation period it generated slowly,and bacterial protein yield had no increasement(P0.05).The stimulation of rumen liquid peptides and soybean peptides to bacteria growth seemed to be better than that of corn peptides(P0.05).The conclusions suggested that the growth of bacteria need peptides and peptides uptake might be a limiting factor to growing bacteria.
