A Comparative Study of Genetic Distance and Clustering Analysis among Shandong Indigenous Chicken Breeds

Five microsatellite markers with high polymorphism were selected to test the genetic diversity of seven chicken breeds,five of which were Shandong indigenous ones,Rizhao Pockmarked,Shouguang,Luxi Fighting,Jining Hundred,Laiwu Black,and one was foreign chicken--Anoka Yellow,and another one was Guangxi indigenous chicken--Guangxi Yellow.40 alleles were found,and alleles frequencies and variation within breed were analyzed.Nei's standard genetic distance (D_S,1972)and D_A genetic distance(Nei,et al,1983)among breeds were calculated.NJ tree and UPGMA tree were constructed using D_S and D_A.The result showed that D_A--UPGMA tree was more robust with higher bootstrap values.
