THE APPLICATION AND ECONOMIC BENEFITS OF HORMONE-INDUCED LACTATION FOR DAIRY COWS

Totally 1302 treatments for hormone-induced lactation were applied to empty dairy cows during 1987-1993 inclusive,86.l% were successful. Estrus cycles of 81. 6% of cows returned to normal,and conception rate of these cows was 77. 4/00. The total gross income so amounted to 1.5 million yuan. The experiment showed that hormone-induced lactation could bc applied successfully and cconomically to empty and non-lactating cows due to bad feeding and management,and some reproductive diseases.
