Clinical observation on treatment of neonatal HIE with hyperbaric oxygen combined with cerebroside carnosine

Objective To study the therapeutic effects and action mechanism of hyperbaric oxygen combined with cerebroside carnosine in the treatment of newborn hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE). Methods 90 cases of HIE were selected and randomly and equally divided into control group and observation group. The control group received the conventional treatment, while the observation group received the treatment with hyperbaric oxygen combined with cerebroside carnosine injection. Comparison was made in the nerve functional recovery and cytokine content changes between the two groups. Results After the treatment, the recovery time to consciousness state, primitive reflexes, and normal muscular tension, and the controlled time of seizures in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P 0.05). S-100β, NSE, s TREM-1, hs-CRP, TNF-alpha,IL-8 levels in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P 0.05). Conclusion The hyperbaric oxygen combined with cerebroside carnosine for the treatment of HIE can improve nerve function, reduce nerve cell injury, relieve inflammation, and improve the clinical symptoms fast, which is worthy of further research.
