Objective To evaluate the effects of dental arch splint applied to emergency traumatic avulsed tooth replantation. Methods 60 cases of emergency traumatic avulsed teeth were divided into treatment and control groups with 30 cases in each group. The two groups were given avulsed tooth replantation. Then, the control group was treated by square wire segmental arch technique for the fixation, while the treatment group was treated by dental arch splint for the fixation. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was 96.7%, and that of the control group was 76.7%. The effective rate of the former group was significantly superior to that of the latter group(P 0.05). The follow-up was made for 6 months after the treatment. The scores of aesthetics and comfort in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P 0.05). The tooth mobility degree of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P 0.05). There was no significant difference in the fixation quality between the two groups(P 0.05). Conclusion Compared with square wire segmental arch technique, the application of dental arch splint to the fixation after emergency traumatic avulsed tooth replantation can achieve better fixation and aesthetic effects, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
