A STUDY ON THE CORRELATION BETWEEM LEAF FORM AND LEAF AREA OF GRAPE "KYOHO

Before abscission,the individual leaf area (Y,LA) of grape ' Kyoho' (Vitis vinifera L. X V. labrusca L. cv. Red Fuji) was found significantly correlated with the lengths of the foliar midvein (x1),the two lateral veins (x2,x3),and the petiole (x4)respectively. The leaf area estimated from simple linear measurements accounts for 62. 91±3. 13~3. 27 cm2. All of these parameters present a closely multiple correlation with the LA y= - 29. 78 ± 0. 70x1 ± 3. 76x2 ± 6. 86x3 ± 4. 70x4,R = ± 0. 9564 ), whose effects can be represented by the partial correlation coefficients in the model as x3x4x2x1.
