A Study of Paddy Rice Coverage Monitoring Based on CBRES CCD Data——A Case Study of Liangping County

Using Landsat TM images as reference data and CBRES CCD images as the essential data and combining current land usage map and statistical data,this paper applied RS and GIS techniques to estimate paddy rice planting area of Liangping county of Chongqing. A comparison of the information of paddy rice planting in the research region with the results of TM data showed that CBRES CCD data had a precision of 92.37%. It was concluded from the experimental study that the result of extracting the data of paddy rice planting area in the study region with CBRES-02 CCD image data was satisfactory. The accuracy of CBRES-02 CCD image data was affected by altitude and topology of the region:at lower altitude and in flat regions,rice planting was more centralized and the accuracy was higher than that in a region at higher altitude and with more complicated and segmented topography.
