Analysis of Brassica napus seed quality in Sichuan ecological region by near-infrared spectroscopy

Erucic acid,glucosinolate and rude fat contents in Brassica napus seeds of 46 Brassica napus L.lines in Sichuan ecological region were determined by near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS) on a near-infrared grain analyzer,and the results were compared with gas chromatography method for erucic acid,liquid chromatography method for glucosinolates and Soxhlet method for rude fat content,respectively.The difference in results between NIRS and accurate method was not significant(lower than 5 percent level).The correlation coefficients of tested values by the two methods were at 1 percent significant level.The relationship could be described with a linear regressive formula.Based on the results,we concluded that near-infrared spectroscopy was a quick,efficient and reliable screenings of rapeseeds for breeding selection.
