Analysis of Heterosis Groups and Heterosis Models of Waxy Maize Breeding in Chongqing

The blood relationship,combining ability,and SSR markers classifies of the 22 waxy maize hybrids,which were selected by Chongqing Academy of Agricultural Sciences and examined the national or provincial committee were analyzed,the results showed that:(i)S181 group and Heng-Bai group were the two main heterosis groups,and S181 group had unique heterosis of southwest in Chongqing;(ii) Heterosis model was the most distinct in S181 group × Heng-Bai group,which was followed by S181 group ×others group.Therefore,the application and expansion of the heredity difference between S181 group and Heng-Bai group would be the target in waxy maize breeding in Chongqing to develop the heterosis model,especially S181 group,and the utilization of genetic resources of maize in southwest should be strengthened to increase genetic basis,and finally select out better varieties.
