Repeatability and Predictability Analysis of Early Generation in 24 Sugarcane Crosses

The repeatability and predietability of 7 characteristics of the progenies of 24 sugarcane crosses from 29 parents were studied from seedling generations to settling generations,and relative regression analysis were carried out,so as to study the genetic traits and breeding capacity of sugarcane parents.The results revealed that both the related coefficient and regression coefficient of stalk diameter,millable stalks,brix and weight per stalk reached significant level,which indicated that the characteristics were less affected by environment.Thus,it would promote the breeding efficiency by enacting selecting standards for early generations on the basis of the four characteristics mentioned above.According to the results,among the 29 parents ROC24,YT91-976,ROC1,ROC22 were desirable parents for sugarcane breeding,and ROC24×YT91-976,ROC1×ROC22,YT89-113×ROC22 were better sugarcane crosses of the 24 crosses,which should be widely used in the future sugarcane breeding program.
