Effects of Different Sowing Dates on Main Chemical Components of Flue-cured Tobacco Leaves and Economical Character

To investigate the effect of sowing dates on the changes of chemical components and economic character of flue-cured tobacco varieties in ripening period,the field experiments were carried out from 2009 to 2010 in Guangdong Shaoguan,the three sowing dates which was normal sowing date(1 December),late sowing(11 December) and the later sowing(December 21) were set, the results showed that sowing date seriously affected the changes of chemical components and economic character of flue-cured tobacco during ripeness.With delayed sowing date,the plant height of all varieties grew shorter,effectively reducing the number of leaves,maximum leaf area was reduced to affect flue-cured tobacco production,meanwhile,the content of total nitrogen and nicotine in the upper leaves gradually decreased,and the content of soluble sugar and starch increased gradually.After roasted tobacco B2F,C3F,in which the total nitrogen content,nicotine content decreases with delayed sowing,starch content increased.In summary,under later sowing conditions,the flue-cured tobacco's production would decline,and the quality of flue-cured tobacco leaves decreased.
