DIFFERENCE IN TISSUE CULTURE CAPABILITIES BETWEEN YUNNAN HSIEN AND KENG RICE SEED

In tissue culture of seeds from 16 Hsien and 36 Keng rice varieties, it was found that callus capable of being differentiated in size of 3-4mm of Keng rice seed were emerged earlier than those of Hsien rice seeds. Plantlet forming peak periods were earlier too.But the Hsien's plantlet productivity was higher than the Keng's.
