Study of Si_3N_4 Ceramic Surface Zirconium Metallization by Thermal Reductive Reaction

The mechanism of zirconium coating on Si3N4 ceramic surface by reductive reaction has been studied, with Al powder and K2ZrF6 as materials in KCl molten salt bath. Was observed by SEM. From the experimental results, it is found the coating film appeared silver in color and with metal luster, and was composed of Zr5Si3 and ZrN without any element of aluminum.
