Determination of Quinol with Nano-Gold-Modified Glassy Carbon Electrode

Glassy carbon electrode modified with electrochemically depositing nano-gold was described and its application to determination of quinol was characterized via cyclic voltammetry(CV)and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).The modified electrode showed excellent electrocatalytic activity towards oxidation of quinol in 0.1 mol/L phosphate medium at pH 7.5.Good linearity was obtained in the concentration range of 4.0×10~(-6)-3.2×10~(-3) mol/L with a detection limit of 1.02×10~(-6) mol/L under the optimum operations.Moreover,the resulting electrode combines characteristics of simple preparation,fast response and facilitated use.The studied electrode has been applied to the analysis of quinol samples with good results.
