The Different Sensitivity to Iodide Inducing Thyroid Cells Apoptasis of Normal and AITD Patients

Objective To explore the role of the excessive iodide on inducing apoptosis in thyroid cells from normal subjects and AITD patients.Methods primary thyroid cells were cultured with different concentration iodide, apoptosis rate of TECs was determined by flow cytometry techique,in the meantime Fas,Fasl,p53 level were determined by histochemistry.Results Thyroid cell treated with iodide excess underwent the morphological changes and apoptosis.There is a gradually increased apoptosis rate and Fas/Fasl protein expression accompanying with iodide concentration rising.The apoptosis rate and protein of GD and HT group were higher than control group.Conclusion: there is more sensitivity of apoptosis to iodide in AITD patients.
