Research on Identification of Sensitive Targets of Accidental Water Pollution in the Three Gorges Reservoir Region

Concentrated drinking water sources are the important sensitive targets of accidental water pollution that easy to be polluted in the Three Gorges Reservoir area(TGRA).With concentrated drinking water sources as research object,the sensitive targets in the TGRA have been identified.The results show that there are 99sensitive targets(concentrated drinking water sources)mainly distributed in the Chongqing Section in the research area,providing drinking water for more than 7million individuals.Among these sensitive targets,18have been found to provide more than 10million populations.The drinking water sources in Jiulongpo District,Shapingba District,Jiangbei District,and Nan'an District in Chongqing offer relatively more people with drinking water.In addition,there are 23serious sensitive targets and 28major sensitive targets,which accounts for 51.52% of the whole number of the sensitive targets in the TGRA,and mainly distributed in the Chongqing section.
