From Caucasus towards Kongquehe( the Peacock River) : A Discussion on the Archaeological Culture of the Bronze Age along the Peacock River

Wang Binghua;
The archaeological culture of the Bronze Age along the Peacock River was an important achievement of the archaeological work in Xinjiang during past decades.Its resident,economic life,cultural notions and relationship with adjacent regions are hot spots of academia.The cultural remains of the Bronze Age,unearthed in Caucasus area in early years and now preserved in the State Historical Museum of Russia,show clear relationship with the typical cultural remains of the Bronze Age discovered in the Peacock River area.The article puts forward a new idea that a group of people of the Bronze Age in the Peacock River immigrated from the Caucasus and this can be supported by the conclusion made by palaeoclimatic community that a little ice age occurred around 2000 B.C.and caused population emigration from Europe.The article makes analysis on the relevant natural geographic conditions within the migration area and confirms the possibility of the migration.Moreover,to enter the Tianshan Mountains from Mesopotamia of the Central Asia and go eastward through the Tianshan canyons and arrive in the Peacock River valley is a reasonable migration path.The traces of the transportation and cultural communication in the history between the Caucasus and ancient Xinjiang can be found in archaeological materials and Chinese historical records.The ideas of this article open a new window on the issues that were not explored or paid little attention by Asia-Europe academia and need more attention and discussion.
