The Recording and Registration of Huangkou( Sucking Children) in the Tang Dynasty:Centered on Dunhuang and Turfan Documents

Huangkou refered to infants and young children of 1-3 years old in the Tang Dynasty.Since it was a common practice in the demographics of the Tang Dynasty that only the children over age 2 could be recorded in household registration,the records of one-year-old children were mainly seen in the Shoushi(register)documents.The registration of 2 to 3-year-old children often went through two links,i.e.booking and registering,then they were listed in household registration in appendix table finally.In terms of nature,these Huangkous list in the household registration belonged to Zhanghouxinshengfu(attached list of new-born babies)and this,to a certain extent,reflected the actual situation of the demographic and compiling of household registration book of the Tang Dynasty.
