Tibetan Traditional Architectural Art Interview the famous Tibetan traditional Architectural art theorist and designer Mr.Muya Chukyi Gyentsen

Professor Muya Chukyi Gyentsen is a famous expert of Tibetan traditional architecture with a distinguished career.He was born on June 4th 1947 in a chieftain's family on the downgrade titled Mi Zu Xi at Ri Wa Gang in Kangding(the ancient Xi Xia Kingdom).When he was 4 years old,he was identified as the reincarnation of the eighth Muya living Buddha of Muya Guwa Monastery which belongs to Gelugpa Sect.In 1958 he studied Buddhism scripture in Drepung Monastery in Lhasa.Afterwards he studied in the college of Buddhism studying which was newly set up at that time.During the Cultural Revolution he was sent to the capital construction company in Shan Nan Farm of the Military Area Command to be engaged in civil engineering.In 1974 he worked as a contractor for Lhasa Construction Company.In 1976 he participated in the constructors' training class that was jointly sponsored by Tibet Autonomous Region Construction and Designing Institute and Lhasa Construction Company.Owing to his outstanding results of exams,he was employed by Tibet Autonomous Region Construction and Designing Institute to be engaged in construction and designing work.He has mainly studied Tibetan traditional architecture.The buildings designed by the professor can be found all over the region.He has also published many books of Tibetan traditional architecture.Moreover,he has attended to many international and national architecture and Tibetan Studies conferences.The article is the content of an interview of the professor mainly about Tibetan traditional architectural art.
