The Tibetan Historiography View Reflected in the Tibetan Historical Records of Emperor Tang Tai-zong

Tang Tai-zong is one of important emperors in the history of the Tang dynasty and Tibet, so there is alarge number of records of him in the Tibetan literature. This article, mainly referring to the Tibetan historical re-cords from the Period of the Latter Prosperity of Tibetan Buddhism, analyses four different appellations aboutTang Tai-zong, and discusses Tang Tai-zong's characters in the legendary of"Princess Wen-Cheng"in Tibet.Then, it summaries the Tibetan's unique view of history, which displays some specific features, for instance, theTibetan historical records written with writers' own subjective wishes, labeling historical figures, containingmany myths and legends with strong Buddhist color.
