Objective To observe the protective effect of Emu Oil on experimental gastric mucosal lesion. Methods The 2 models of gastric mucosal lesion in mice were induced, and the effect of Emu Oil on gastric mucosal lesion was observed. The experimental chronic gastric ulcer in rats was established, and the effect of Emu Oil on chronic gastric ulcer was observed. Results (1) In the acute gastric ulcer model group, obvious protective effect was observed in the emu oil high dosage group (1 ml /kg,P0.05),the middle dosage group (0.5 ml /kg,P0.05),but not in the low dosage group (0.25 ml /kg,P0.05);(2) The emu oil (0.7 ml/kg,P0.05) could obvious promote the healing of the gastric ulcer lesion, while the middle dosage group (0.35 ml /kg) and the low dosage group (0.175 ml /kg,P0.05) could not reduce the area of the ulcer lesion. Conclusion Emu oil has protective effect on experimental gastric mucosal lesion.
