Exploration on the Biological Features and Clinical Application of Disposable Ceramic Scalpel

Objective To explore the biological characteristics and scientific evidences for practical and safe application of disposable ceramic scalpel in clinic. Methods The disposable ceramic scalpel was made of the zirconia ceramic. By means of animal experiment,pathological observation, clinic application, comparisons of the biological characteristics, clinic advantages, risk assessment between metal and ceramic scalpel were accomplished. Results Ceramic scalpel fully met the requirements of surgical operations, with no break in use.Compared to metal scalpel, ceramic scalpel incisions had faster wounding healing, lighter inflammation and more neatly cutting edges.Conclusion Ceramic scalpel, particularly practical and safe, provides fast wound healing with its better biocompatibility.
