Learning in the Age of Globalization:A Review and Thinking of AECT2012

The 2012 annual international convention of Association of Educational Communications and Technology(AECT) was held during October 31th to November 3rd 2012 in Louisville,Kentucky,USA,with more than 900 participants from all over the world.The AECT 2012 convention was organized around the theme of "Learning in the age of globalization" with three keynote speeches and 628 sessions in various formats.This paper highlights the key themes of learning design and technology field that are revealed during the AECT 2012 International Convention.The paper also summarizes the AECT 2012 including conference theme,keynote speeches,presidential presentations and sessions,and presentations by AECT divisions and affiliations.Authors of this paper also comment and reflect on the conference theme,issues,challenges and opportunities in terms of learning and globalization,research methodology,creativity,new media,and mobile technology from perspectives as researchers,educators,and conference participants.
