Digital Inclusion and Rebirth in Marginal Area:Media Uses and Gratifications for Left-behind Children in Hometown of Overseas Chinese in the New Period

Digital technology and learning difficulty is a new topic in the field of learning science,which focuses on the individual social inclusion in digital society in essence.Based on the uses and gratifications theory in communication,from the perspec-tive of digital inclusion,this research conducts an empirical study on the media uses and gratifications of left-behind children in hometown of overseas Chinese in the context of formal and informal learning,and explores the possibility and way to bridge digital ex-clusion and achieve rebirth in marginal area in digital media environment for the left-children.Five strategies(material accessibility,uses accessibility,mind accessibility,skill accessibility,skill accessibility and policy accessibility) are put forward on digital inclusion for the learning difficulty group,so the learning and social justice to some degree will be promoted.
