NUMERICAL METHOD TO CALCULATE THE STIEFNESS OF CURVED BEAMS

it is laborious to calculate the stiffness of curved beams in conventional approaches described in text books of materials mechanics and clastic mechanics.Neither is it convenient to use the finite element analysis because of the complexity of the beam shape,the vast amount of work and the costly expense of computer-hours Disadvantages also exist in the method proposed in ref.1.Modifications made on it are presented herein.The modified approach is a numerical method which needs only a small amount of computer-hours,a simpler program and enjoys a higher precision.The software,as,a CAD package matching the for designing micrometer frame, has been successfully run in the modified method.The advantages mentioned above are even more obvious when the optimation design nccessitates repeated structural analysis calls.
