POSITIONING OF SENSORS FOR FLEXIBLE FLIGHT VEHICLES

In order to eliminate the interaction between aeroelasticity and flight control of vehicles, the positions of mounted sensors must be chosen properly. By means of modern control method, sensor positions in design of flexible flight vehicles are studied in this paper. For general plane positioning, a model of optimal process with constant parameters and a performance index for suppressing elastic vibration are set up. Combining Pontryagin's Maximum Principle with spline function approximation method, we have developed a simple formula (13), with which the optimal position of the rate gyro can be determined. Analysis and calculation of a practical example show that the results is correct, and is simpler and more accurate with the method developed in this paper than that with root-locus method.
