NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF HYPERSONIC EQUILIBRIUM FLOW WITH RADIATION

The radiative viscous flow over hypersonic blunt bodies is calculated numerically.Chemical equilibrium is considered with the viscous shock layer equations.Both line and continuum radiation moldels are employed. One-dimersional plannar medium assumption is used to deal with radiative transport so that the spatial marching technique is available in numerical calculation. The numerical results show that the convective heating transfer rate prevails as the reentry velocity is lower than 7.6km/sec.The radiative heating transfer rate increases with the increase of reentry velocity,density and the nose radius of the body,and it may be as large as the convective heating at the velocity of 11km/sec.
