Steffee Instrumentation Treatment for Spondylolisthesis
Huang Gongming et al
Twelve patients of symtomatic spondylolisthesis were treated by Steffee instrumentation for the fixation of reduction combining the decompression of spinal and nerve root canals and posterior interbody fusion. The degree of vertebral slip was reduced from 29.9% (20～40%) to 6% (0～15%). The bone fusion occurred and the nerve symtoms relieved in all patients. It is indicated that the Steffee instrumentation of rigid fixation can enhance the bone fusion and the decompression should be performed on the symtomatic spondylolisthesis.
