Evaluation of coronary sinus flow reserve after percutaneous transluminal intervention by transthoracic echocardiography

Objective To evaluate the coronary sinus flow reserve after percutaneous transluminal intervention by using transthoracic echocardiography. Methods Sixty-two patients diagnosed acute mass infarction were proved left coronary artery stenosis and/or its branchs by coronary angiography, and all of them were accepted PTCA and stent implantion. The coronary sinus flow reserve before and after PCI was measured by holdgrip exercise echocardiography. Results The coronary sinus systolic/diastolic peak flow and index increased after PCI.The reserve of velocity and index after PCI had significantly differences with before intervention. Conclusion The coronary sinus flow measured by transthoracic echocardiorgraphy can be used to estimate the coronary flow perfusion in patients after revascularization.
