Surgical treatment of aneurysm of valsalva sinus associated with cardiac anomalism

Objective To study surgical treatment of congenital aneurysm of valsalva sinus(AVS) associated with ventricular septum defect(VSD) or/and aortic valvular insufficiency(AVI). Methods Of 27 patients with AVS undergoing surgery, 14 with AVS were associated with AVI (51.85%) and 18 with VSD(66.67%).The surgical procedures included patch repair of AVS in all the patients, of whom,5 associated with AVI received valvuloplasty, 4 with AVI replacement of aortic valve, and 17 with VSD mere one patch repair. Results Of 27 patients with AVS,1 died of the operation(3.70%) and 26 survived(96.30%). 26 patients were followed up from 1 to 48 months, trivial AVI in 3, neither recurrence nor residual shunt of AVS and VSD in all. Conclusion Patch-repaired is an effective method.
