THE INFLUENCE OF THE MATERIALS OF PROTECTING LAYER ON THE DISCHARGE CHARACTERISTICS IN AC PDP

A measuring device imitating the discharge in AC PDP cell is designed And by using it, the influence of protecting film made from different materials such as (CaSr)O, (MgSr)O etc on the performance of AC PDP is examined The studies direction of new film materials is determined, and the problems must be dissolved in using the high emissive materials film are investigated The results manifest that the AC PDP with the protecting film made from mixed oxide, such as (CaSr)O, its working voltage is lower and aging characteristics is better than that with the film made from single oxide, such as MgO, but its working margin is narrower The studies also indicate that the working voltage and margin in AC PDP cell is changed with the the ratio of the mixed oxides, and the lowest working voltage is obtained when the weight ratio of CaO(or MgO) to SrO is about one to three
