Influence of Tube Pitch on Heat Transfer and Resistance Characteristics of Finned Oil Cooler

In order to investigate the effect of tube pitch on heat transfer and resistance characteristics of finned oil cooler,experimental research was carried out on finned oil coolers with five different tube pitches,and the formulas for shell-course heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop were obtained by fitting the measured data. The distribution of flow field on the shell side of finned oil cooler with a tube pitch of13. 9 mm was simulated by Fluent software. The results show that: Within a certain range of Re number,the finned oil cooler with a tube pitch of 21 mm has a better heat transfer performance,an increase of2% ~ 8% compared with the heat transfer coefficient of other tubes with different tube pitches. The resistance of finned oil cooler is proportional to tube pitch. Finned oil cooler with a tube pitch of 13. 9 mm have better comprehensive heat transfer performance under the same pressure drop constraint,and the heat exchange rate per unit of pump work is the highest.
