Research on Multi-objective Optimization of the Bolt Flange Joint with Double Wedge Angle Ring Gasket Based on Response Surface Method

The bolt flange joint with double wedge angle ring gasket,as a new self-tightening seal structure,not only has stable and reliable sealing performance,but also features compact flange structure and smaller flange weight,thus can save a lot of material. By combination of the finite element analysis method with the optimization method,the multi-objective optimization design of the bolt flange joint with double wedge angle ring gasket can be well achieved. Using the orthogonal experimental design and response surface method to determine the geometric size combination of flange structural parameters,using the large finite element analysis software Abaqus to perform modeling calculations for the flange with different structural parameters,and by fitting the response surface model,and then by the MATLAB optimization design method,the flange optimal size parameters were obtained. The calculation results show that the maximum contact pressure on the male surface of double wedge angle ring gasket after optimization was increased by 26. 5%,the maximum contact pressure on the female surface of the double wedge angle ring gasket after optimization was increased by 11. 2%,and the weight of the flange was reduced by 31%.
