Safety Assessment of Piping System in Nuclear Power Plant by Isogeometric Analysis

The safety of piping system in nuclear power plant is an important issue. The isogeometric analysis program independently developed by us was used to calculate the internal force,displacement field and inherent frequency of the pipeline model under different operating conditions,and was compared with the commercial software to prove its effectiveness. The geometry of pipeline is accurately described by the non-uniform rational B spline( NURBS) basis functions in the isogeometric analysis,and can be exported directly by computer aided design( CAD) tool without the need of grid division operation in the conventional finite elements. The isogeometric analysis has geometric preciseness and high-order continuity,which can facilitate calculation of high-order derivative values with high calculation efficiency. It has unique advantage over the conventional finite element methods,and can be effectively applied in safety assessment of piping system in nuclear power plant.
