Endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EndMT) is a complex biological process in which endothelial cells under specific environmental stimuli, lose their specific markers and acquire a mesenchymal or myofibroblastic phenotype expressing mesenchymal cell products.EndMT not only plays a crucial role in the development of heart and vascular, but also be widely studied in fibrotic diseases and tumors. This review will focus on the signaling pathways of EndMT and its recent studies on fibrotic diseases and tumors.Maybe this review can help to provide new targets for the treatment of clinical diseases.
