SHA Guiming;MA Lina;LI Yun;Department of Geriatrics,Xuanwu Hospital,Capital Medical University;
Hypertension is a common chronic disease in the elderly. The incidence of hypertension is increasing year by year. Most of the hypertensive patients in China are type H hypertension. Studies have shown that type H hypertension is related to cognitive impairment. Hypertension and homocysteine are independent risk factors of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases,and hyperhomocysteinemia may decrease the cognitive function through neurotoxicity,endothelial damage and so on. There is no effective strategy for the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Therefore,it is important to explore the potential risk factors of cognitive function and to identify the relationship between type H hypertension and cognitive function.
