Analysis and application of Chinese Syllabus for High Schools in Italy

On September 19,2016,the Italian Ministry of Education promulgated Chinese Syllabus for High Schools in Italy(hereinafter"Syllabus"),the first of this kind in Italy.The enactment of the"Syllabus"not only indicated for the first time that Chinese culture and education was incorporated into the Italian national education system,but also played an important guiding role in regulating and unifying Chinese teaching in Italian high schools.In this paper,the advantages and disadvantages of the " Syllabus" are analyzed according to the programmatic documents such as The Com mon European Framework of Reference for Languages,The International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education and The European Benchmarking Chinese Language Project as well as the actual situation of Chinese teaching in Italian high schools.The paper also brings up some pertinent suggestions for the specific application of the " Syllabus" in order to promote the development of Chinese teaching in Italian high schools.
