A review on the significance of namings in Wilde’s ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’

Wilde’s dramas win universal praise. Every where in them are witty remarks and paradoxes, his wordings deliberated and observed, especially the namings of his characters worth pondering, enlightening readers. The objective of this article is to do some researches on the meaningfulness of the pun namings of earnest/ ernest and bunbury in ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’,hoping it will be helpful for us in decoding Wilde.
