Export-oriented Urban Economy and the Role of Geographical Position: A Comparative Study of Central Yunnan, the Pearl River Delta Region of Gunagdong and Haixi of Fujian

City as a regional or national centre of social wealth accumulation is a geographical open system of social activities of human beings,and its development relies totally on the capacity and results of its external material exchanges.The study of the urban development of the three regions,central Yunnan,the Pearl River Delta Region of Gunagdong and Haixi of Fujian,reveals that urban development,its modernization and position rely on its openness to the outside world or its export-oriented economy in which the geographical position plays a key role.
