STUDIES ON ESTERASE ISOZYMES IN HIGHYIELD RICE VARIETY DY=1(Oryza sativa) AND ITS PARENTAL TYPES
Huang Shizhao & Wn Shaoping Dept. of Biology, Yunnan Normal Univ., Kunmning
More than 20 times of analysis with the esterase isozymes extracted from highyi- eld rice variety DY-1 and its parental types were conducted in different developme- ntal phases. Based on the data obtained, some characteristics of esterase isozymes patterns in hybrid and in its parental types were revealed. It was noticed that there were different epzyme dands occurred in dormant seed phase and in the successive developmental phases. Thus the characteristics of enzymic activity dynamics in the whole developmental process were differred with the different variety types. Gene- rally, the patterns of enzymic activity dynamics can de distingnished as two types, namely,"stadle" or"undulate". Evidently, crossing the varieties with different patterns of enzymic activity dynamics and selecting the progeny of the intermediate types with complementary enzymic patterns are the essential factors for breeding a potentially promising variety.
