Molecular Recognition of Bridged Bis(β-Cyclodextrin) Liked with Ether Aromatic for Model Substrate

The inclusion complexation behaviors of 4,4'-aminophenyl ethyl-bridged bis(6-amino-6-deoxy-(β-cyclodexrin) 2,with substrates,such as ammonium 8-anilino-1-naphthalenesulfonate(ANS),sodium 2-(ρ-toluidinyl) naphthalenesulfonate(TNS),rhodamine B(RhB) and brilliant green(BG),were investigated by ultraviolet and fluorescence spectroscopy.The results indicated that the two linked CD units cooperatively bind to a guest,the molecular binding affinity of host 2 toward substrate is increased.The complex stability constants for the selected guests are 1.5 to 16 times larger than those of the native β-CD.Typically,host 2 shows the highest binding constant toward BG up to 18475 M-1.The complex stability constants are discussed comparatively and globally from the viewpoints of multiple recognition between host and guest.
