Since the 20 th century, with the global warming, the frequency of extreme weather events is increasing, which claims our highest attention.57 extreme climate indexes were calculated and seven main extreme precipitation indices were selected by using STARDEX Diagnostic Extremes Indices Software based on the daily meteorological lattice data of Yunnan province during 1961 to 2010.Space distribution features and trend Changes of extreme precipitation in Yunnan province in recent 50 years were analyzed using Mann-kendall rank test and Arcgis 10.1space mapping. The results showed that the spatial distribution of pav,pq90,px5 dand pint gradually reduce from south to north in the past 50 years in Yunnan province, which showed significant difference in space.Overall, the pav decreased(not obvious)in most parts of Yunnan in the past 50 years.
