Optical Optimization of Tube Spacing of Vacuum Tube Collector with Back Reflector Plate

The solar radiation model of vacuum tube collector with back reflector plate was established.Utilizing Monte Carlo ray-tracing method,the energy distributions on the surface of evacuated absorber at different tube spacing were characterized.The collected solar irradiation amount by solar vacuum tube collector at different tube spacing was calculated using shading model.The results showed that when the tube spacing was in the range of 2.3to 3.3times diameter,energy distribution on surface of evacuated absorber was uniform and the energy covered over half of circumferential surface of evacuated absorber. When the tube spacing was in the range of 1.5to 2.3times diameter,there was tube shade phenomenon and the energy distribution area on the surface of absorber is less than half of circumferential surface.When the tube spacing was over 3.3times diameter,local overheat of the absorber was easily caused and lifetime of the absorber was reduced.
