Study on Monte Carlo Algorithm for LAN Monitoring

The monitoring of LAN is an effective method to detect network failures in time.Constructing a boolean function named of Ping to check the network device is the most simple way.When the Ping returns TRUE means that the network device runs normally,and return FALSE means that network equipment has wrong.So obviously Ping is a partial TRUE correct function.According to the idea of Monte Carlo algorithm,repeated k times called partial true Monte Carlo algorithm can be used to improve the correct probability frompto(1-(1-p)k).Practice has proved that the correct probability of Ping in the LAN was above 99%,and up to 3times the correct probability was almost 1.Therefore,based on Monte Carlo algorithm,it is very effective and practical for LAN health monitoring.
