Evaluation of Liquefaction Potential of Sand by Fuzzy Information Analysis

This paper describes some probabilistic analysis based on the simplified method suggested by Seed and Idriss and uses the fundamental theory of fuzzy information analysis for evaluating the liqufaction potential of sand. The basic dynamic characteristics of sand was considered for establishing the fuzzy relationship. The analytic evaluation was compaved and verified with methods of the advanced second order moment and Monte Carlo simulation A conclusion is obtained that the fuzzy information analysis can provide an accuate and objective evaluation of liquefaction potential of sand.
