MAO Zhuan and ZHENG Jian's Annotations on the “Bird” Image in the Book of Songs and Its Poetic Influence

MAO Zhuan,and ZHENG Jian's annotations on the "bird"image in the Book of Songs have the basic characteristics of the Confucian classics interpretation in Han dynasty. It not only told the name and reality and described the image,but also indicated the rhetoric and illustrated the principles. Their selective annotations on the "bird"image conformed to the praise and satire principles of Confucian,and established the metaphor and analogy correlations between the image and poetry of "bird"in the Book of Songs. This correlation has had an extremely profound and long- lasting impact on the inheritance of the"bird"in future generations in aspects of image and themes etc..
