In the absence of a writing system, the ancient Hmong tribes of Guizhou relied either on oral tradition or on embroidery patterns for recording and passing on their cultural history to later generations. The abundance of such extraordinary ancient oral and embroidery texts can not only serve as resources for rhetoric study but also are worthy of exploitation as tourism resources as they completely, systematically and in a primitive way reflect the features of Hmong culture.
