Wang Shanqing Zhang Wenzhong Xiao Aixiang Zhang Guyiun (Dept.of Medical Entomology,Shanxi Medical College,Taiyuan 030001)
We have found 7 species predatory insects of fly larvae since 1986. They are the common species of Coleopterous adults:1.Creophilus maxillosus L.,2.Dianous sp.,3.Hister sp.,4.Silpha sp.,5.Dermestes maculatvs (Deg.),6.Dermestes dimidiatus 7.Nocrobia rufipes(De Geer).Their predation rates have been studied in laboratory.Three of them,Creophilus maxillosus L.,Dianous sp.and Silpha sp.,have large appetites. They feed on separately 48,17 and 36 of the thrid instar larvae of house fly per day. Besides eating, the predators cause the injuries and deaths of fly larvae.
